How we help

Our mission is to help you effectively manage all aspects of your financial life, not just your money.

Most prospective clients who contact us want us to manage their money. That's important, and we think we do that quite well. However, we believe that managing money is not the most important service that we provide our clients. Over the course of life there are many financial issues faced and decisions that must be made. Any of these decisions could have a profound impact upon your life now and/or in retirement. For example, the decision to have an adequate "Rainy Day Fund" to protect against the unanticipated financial emergencies of life is a lynchpin for financial stability. The decision to live within your means creates the savings necessary for retirement (and perhaps college funding). The decision to have adequate life insurance, disability insurance and perhaps long-term care insurance protects loved ones (or yourself) from financial disaster. The decision to manage your debt(s) effectively is a very important part of a stable life and comfortable retirement.

Bad financial behavior on your part can be costly. You could have wonderful investment choices available to you in your retirement plan at work, but you may not be making sufficient contributions to achieve your retirement goals. If every time you buy a new home (or finance your existing one) you do a thirty-year mortgage, then how does your mortgage get retired by the time you are? If you are living above your means now, what are your chances of living within your means in retirement? If you have children, do you know how much you can afford for their college education(s) and how that impacts your retirement plans? Do you know how much life insurance you really need from your family to be okay? And do you have it? If you are retired and taking money from your portfolio, how much of that (if any) can you afford to give to your children or grandchildren?

Your overall financial behavior is critical to your financial success. The bad news is that there are things that you can't control or anticipate. The good news is that there are things you can control that can protect you from many of the bad things in life and hopefully help you achieve your financial goals. You can control your financial behavior… and we can help. It's what we do.
